Wanna make bells? Wanna make REAL BELLS? Well then have I got the guide for you. In honor of the new release, I’ll tell you everything you need to know to make money really quickly to further develop your town that I’ve learned in my (admittedly spoiled) 2 months with the game before release!

First, some prerequisites!
1: Get Animal Crossing New Leaf…..DO IT

2: You must have access to the Island in game, as it has an increased spawn rate for rare bugs and fish

3: Leave some time open for yourself at night specifically.

Lets begin!

When going to the island, it’s important to note that the best time to get bugs and fish is from evening to morning. This is because the palm tree exclusive beetles appear as well as all the “shark fish” excluding the sunfish (which only sells for a meager 3000 bells.).

Now the key to getting the phat bells starts with the destruction of your beautiful island. I cant prove this, but I speculate that there is a capacity of bugs and fish that can spawn on the island at one time. Where these limited resources are spent spawning things like butterflies is when it becomes problematic. Therefore you must:
1: Destroy any flowers and flower bushes on your island.
2: Plant lots of palms and fruit trees.

In doing so, you limit the spawn of all butterflies and other misc. bugs that have a low bell count.

When Hunting, here are the bugs and fish you want! **Minor spoilers for those who do not want to know some select few fish and bugs**

On palms:

  • Goliath Beetle
  • Golden Stag
  • Horned Hercules Beetle
  • Horned Atlas Beetle
  • Horned Elephant Beetle
  • Cyclommatus Stag

On Fruit Trees:

  • Rainbow Stag
  • Giant Stag

When fishing:

  • Shark
  • Hammerhead Shark
  • Saw Fish
  • Whale Shark
  • Blue Marlin
  • Napoleonfish

Optional bugs and fish for the more poor folk! Gufaw!

  • Red Snapper
  • Barred Knifejaw
  • Stingray
  • Giant Trevally
  • Sunfish
  • Oak Silk Moth
  • Jewel Beetle

By sticking to these select few bugs and fish per haul, you will maximize your hauls and will (if done correctly) be making anywhere from 65k bells to 200k bells PER POCKET LOAD.

here is an example of a smaller load before I streamlined the technique.

When hunting, another good tip (when you can more clearly discern what size shadow applies to which fish) is FIRST check the palms for beetles, as you will likely scare away more than your fair share, but then run by the shadows of the less expensive fish and “reset the spawn rate” per say. You should also be doing this for fruit tree bugs who are not worth much. Do this on repeat until you have a full pocket load to transfer to your island box. Fill the island box and repeat!

By following this technique I promise you you can make over 1 million bells a day (no exaggeration, as both my brother and I have done so!). Good luck hunters and post pictures if this technique works for you! I would love to see what worth the biggest haul is!

Enjoy this awesome new nintendo title!

so basically i’m really stressed out right now because it’s time for me to get things ready to give college a second go, but i can’t get everything moving because of work. we had a guy transfer so the extra hours fell on my head.

i like my job, but i also liked when i only worked 4 days a week. it’s hard to go do things like register and meet with advisors when you only have like, one weekday where you are available.

on top of that i’m supposed to be finding partners for “community outreach” for work, and i’m struggling to find time to do that part of my job on top of everything else.
